California Hands & Voices<\/a><\/strong> is dedicated to supporting families with children who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing<\/a><\/strong><\/span> in a respectful and non-judgmental manner regarding language opportunities, communication tools or educational approaches. We\u2019re a parent-driven, non-profit organization providing families with the resources<\/a><\/strong>, networks, and information to improve communication access and educational outcomes for their children. Since 2012, California Hands & Voices has been a statewide, parent-led organization helping families build their village. H&V connects families with other parents, Deaf and Hard of Hearing adults, trusted professionals, organizations, and community partners. Our team provides Parent-to-Parent support, educational advocacy, local and statewide family engagement events, referrals to agencies and programs, and so much more, all at no cost to families, thanks to our amazing volunteers and donors. <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

This organization aims to be a trusted resource you can turn to when families need connection and support beyond the audiology office. As parents ourselves, we understand the lived experience of raising a child who is Deaf or Hard of Hearing and the importance of having people who truly understand walking alongside a family. In addition, family\u2019s village looks different, and we meet families where they are with respect, without judgment, and without a one-size-fits-all approach.<\/span><\/p>\n

CA Hands and Voices is primarily volunteer-powered and currently unfunded in 56 of California\u2019s 58 counties. In case you know someone who may be interested in supporting our work, we\u2019d love an introduction. Furthermore, staff are also seeking in-kind support in 2027, including printing for our outreach brochures, a website developer, and a video storyteller. Even small contributions can make a meaningful difference in helping us reach more families.<\/span><\/p>\n

Moreover, please consider a family who could benefit from Parent-to-Parent support, resources, or help navigating what comes next, please feel comfortable referring them to CA H&V. Without a doubt, members will learn what each family is looking for and help connect them with the support that fits their needs<\/span>.<\/p>\n

Request Educational Advocacy Support: <\/a><\/strong>Should you host events where families can learn about products, services, or resources related to Deaf and Hard of Hearing children, you\u2019re welcome to add them to our community calendar: <\/span><\/p>\n

Submit an Event to Our Community Calendar:<\/strong><\/a> Personnel are ready to provide a California Hands and Voices Organization Overview for your clinic or program. Presentations are about 30 minutes, followed by Q&A.
