The response from Audiologists in California couldn't have been more welcoming
Costa Mesa was the epicenter of the California Academy of Audiology world last week and Simeon was thrilled to be there, demonstrating Auracast and soaking up all the great Audiology energy! As most of you know, Simeon focuses primarily on Audiologists because they are leaders in their communities and knowledge-keepers when it comes to hearing accessibility. That’s our world as well! Audiologists also appreciate sound quality and a more discerning cohort you’ll not find. Demonstrating the world’s first Auracast-enabled portable soundfield system, the Simeon Audita III, certainly opened eyes (and ears) and it was so fun seeing the Audiologists light up when they heard the remarkable sound quality of Auracast, many for the first time.
Here is my demonstration technique:
1. Share my phone screen with the Oticon Companion app to demonstrate how easy it is to connect Intent hearing aids to Auracast. It takes exactly 3.5 seconds to connect once you select the Auracast broadcast signal.
2. I have a stethoscope that allows the Intent hearing aids to transmit sound to un-aided ears, revealing incredible sound quality.
3. My script goes through a variety of sentences that have high frequencies and challenging consonants. In a noisy ballroom with hundreds of people, Auracast is even more impressive.
4. Then I suddenly mute my mic, creating a stark contrast between the effortless listening environment they were just enjoying, and the cold reality that most people with hearing loss endure in congregate settings.
The response from Audiologists in California couldn’t have been more welcoming, both for Simeon and Auracast. Oh, and the Simeon Catchbox shown in the photo was another huge hit!
